New VSA-3300 Vibration Spectrum Analyzers

Rugged handheld analyzer with new Spectrum 2.0 software – lowest noise floor available

Datastick’s new VSA-3300 Vibration Spectrum Analyzers add to the popular VSA line in a new form factor – using an IP-65-rated handheld computer and VSA module. They include new Spectrum 2.0 software for collecting and analyzing vibration waveforms and spectra for condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and troubleshooting. Using a VSA with Spectrum, you can do analysis at the machine on the handheld itself; you do not have to go back to a PC. The updated software offers new user tools and integrated acoustic signal output.

The VSA-3300s are faster than the VSA-1200s and have a longer battery life. VSAs are exceptionally easy to learn and use. They provide the lowest noise floor in the industry, so you can see peaks that are hidden in the noise in other portable analyzers. VSAs are also widely regarded as being the easiest analyzers to learn and use.

Configuration consists of the ruggedized VSA-3300 module and Meazura MEZ-1500 handheld computer. The VSA-3300s are larger than the 10-oz VSA-1200s, but smaller than a VSA-1200 plus an external RC-5 rugged case. There are a number of ways to hold and carry the VSA-3300s. The handheld computer can be carried in one hand with the module directly attached, or carried with the handheld computer in a flexible protective case with a play-through surface as one unit, or the handheld can be held in one hand and the module can be worn on the hip or over-the-shoulder in its flexible case.

Models Include:

VSA-3314:

  • Frequency fmin 5 Hz, fmax 10 kHz
  • Sensor support for IEPE (ICP®-compatible) accelerometers

VSA-3315, adds to the VSA-3314:

  • Frequency fmax 20 kHz
  • Sensor support for IEPE velocity sensors

VSA-3317, Adds to the VSA-3315:

  • Automatic bump (impact) test for resonance
  • Acoustic signal output for user monitoring
  • Sensor support for IEPE displacement, and pressure sensors
  • Externally powered voltage and current output sensor support

VSA-3318, Adds to the VSA-3317:

  • Frequency fmin 0.016 Hz

New Spectrum software for the handheld computer, combined with a VSA-3300 series module includes new:

  • Integrated Review: You can load any measurement file taken with Spectrum 2.0 for further analysis and transforms on your handheld
  • Faster signal read: Optimized FFT algorithm while still keeping the lowest noise floor of all portable analyzers
  • New user tools that allow you to:
    • Highlight a part of a signal to see the overall value of just that part of the signal (time and frequency domain), so you can measure the energy of a single frequency domain peak
    • Highlight a part of a time domain signal into an FFT
    • With auto-range zoom, highlight part of a signal and zoom that area to maximize screen use

Datastick Reporting System (DRS™) is included with all models – Excel-based PC software for analysis and reporting that enables easy sharing of data with colleagues and consultants

Packages include: accelerometer, magnetic mount, cable, hardshell carrying case, flexible protective case, cables, VSA module, rugged handheld computer, and software.

Previewed at Semicon 2011 Japan. Shipping mid-March 2012.

Specifications subject to change without notice. Not all of the new features of Spectrum software will be available in the first release of the VSA-3300.
